This program is administered by ComEd. The program awards grants to public agencies who wish to improve or maintain open space. A maximum of $10,000 can be awarded per grant to support planning, acquisition, and improvements to local parks, natural areas, and recreation resources. Grant recipients can use Green Region grants in combination with other funding sources to cover a portion of the expenses associated with developing and/or supporting their open space programs. The Village of River Forest was a recent program winner.
