This program is administered by the Public Works Board. The Public Works Board(PWB)is authorized by state statute (RCW 43. 155), to loan money to counties, cities, and special purpose districts to repair, replace, or create domestic water systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems, roads, streets, solid waste and recycling facilities, and bridges. There is a maximum $1 million dollar award per jurisdiction per biennium limit, with a loan term of 20 years or the life of the improvement whichever is less. The Emergency Construction program focuses on the activities that repair, replace, and/or reconstruct a facility that will restore essential services. Eligible projects are a public works project made necessary by a natural disaster, or an immediate and emergent threat to the public health and safety due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances.
